Cubs fans milked the Back to the Future card as much as possible this week. Chicago had everyone believing Doc and Marty (and Jennifer) went into a real future and uncovered the Cubs' 2015 World Series title.
The Mets did not get the memo. New York finished its four-game NLCS sweep with an 8-3 win at Wrigley Field on Wednesday, Oct. 21, "Back to the Future Day."
A Cubs fans tried to troll Daniel Murphy with a Back to the Future-related sign. It did not work.

Murphy took that advice, but in a way that only hurt the Cubs. He sent a pitch over the fence for a sixth consecutive game, a new postseason record. He has seven total home runs this October.
In Back to the Future Part II, the phrase is also used wrong. And it comes during a 1955 scene, not 2015.
In the meantime, baseball fans had a field day turning Back to the Future references on their head.

In the future, Daniel Murphy is also a Supreme Court justice.

And so it turns out that Back to the Future didn't get it right. Breathe easy, Mets fans. The future is not written yet.
As Doc Brown would say, "Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one."
