It's a classic Dad joke: "I lost a pound getting my hair cut."
For Samantha Diaz, this is real life. The Invicta FC MMA fighter weighed in at 116.2 pounds, Thursday, just over the limit for a strawweight.
Diaz proved to be a resourceful fighter. Employing the help of photographer Esther Lin, Diaz had a chunk of her hair chopped off. Her weight dropped to 115.9, making her eligible for Invicta FC 20 Friday in Kansas City.

Diaz, 23, is making her pro debut at Invicta FC 20, fighting Miranda Maverick. She now looks a little different than she did in Wednesday's promo video.

If Diaz wins Friday, short hair may be her new thing.
