Thirty-seven years ago, Hugh Herr went rock climbing, got caught in a blizzard and sustained frostbite so severe that both of his legs had to be amputated.

Herr was so determined to rock climb again that he developed the technology to create the prosthetics he would need.

Now Herr's research continues at MIT, and in the latest edition of HBO's Real Sports (which premieres 10 p.m. ET/PT on January 29) he explains how these projects will also help able-bodied competitors. In effect, he believe it will turn humans into super humans. Check out this preview:
