Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd was one of the greatest floor generals in NBA history. One trait that made him so successful was his level-headedness on the court. That is why this next clip of the Bucks coach may come as a surprise.

Kidd, who is in his third season as an NBA head coach, slaps the ball out of referee Zach Zarba's hand with 1:49 left in the game and the Bucks trailing the Kings, 120-109. Zarba does not flinch, but loses the ball and gives Kidd a technical in one fluid motion. Kidd was subsequently ejected from the game.

If it matters, he was arguing a play he thought Giannis Antetokounmpo was fouled on.

After the game, Kidd said he was trying to protect his team.

Kidd could have done a better job protecting his players by preparing them better. The Kings came into the night 5-10 and were without their star, DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings won, 121-113.

There is more. Kidd's antics come two years to the same week when, as Nets head coach, he had a player bump into him to spill a drink. This bought the Nets an extra timeout, but cost Kidd a $50,000 fine.

A fine could certainly be in Kidd's future for what the Internet is calling, "Slapsgiving." Was career steal number 2,685 worth it?
