Festivus came early in Evanston. On Wednesday, Northwestern announced the addition of a high-profile freshman walk-on. Charlie Hall is the son of Saturday Night Live and Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and fellow SNL cast member Brad Hall.
Welcome to new @NUMensBball walk-on Charlie Hall. Yada, yada, yada…you might know his mother. http://t.co/S6qLrNTEpr pic.twitter.com/ks0XE8hmdp

Hall, 57, and Louis-Dreyfus, 54, met at Northwestern more than 30 years ago. Now, the two theater geeks have a Big Ten basketball player.
So proud of our boy. Yes, he got the height from me.

Hall is 6-5, 205 pounds, which is significantly larger than his mother. He averaged 15.3 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in his senior season, an all-league campaign, at Crossroads School in Santa Monica. Crossroads is the alma mater of former NBA players Baron Davis and Austin Croshere, as well as actors Jack Black, Jonah Hill, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Zooey Deschanel. ESPN's J.A. Adande is an alum of Crossroads and Northwestern.
Here is his full bio on nusports.com:
Hall joins a list of Northwestern basketball sons of famous figures. Senior Tre Demps is the son of New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps, former star Drew Crawford is the son of NBA referee Danny Crawford and head coach Chris Collins is the son of NBA player, coach and broadcaster Doug Collins.
But none of those parents met the Soup Nazi.
Charlie Hall is about to compete in his own contest.
