Forget Midnight Madness, the night in October when college basketball programs ceremonially kick off the season with dunk contests and all sorts of flashy performances.
The Cincinnati Bearcats kicked off their season Thursday with Midday Madness, and even though the weather didn't cooperate, the event turned out to be pretty cool.
The athletic department set up a court at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, and from noon to 1 p.m., the men's and the women's basketball teams shot around and introduced themselves to the crowds.
Here's what the court looked like as it was being set up:

Unfortunately for the school it rained during the afternoon, but a sizable crowd still came out for the event.
